Alanya is a city situated in the Mediterranean, at the eastern coast of Antalya Bay of the Anatolian Peninsula and its history dates back to the antiquity. Behind the town are the Taurus Mountains and the total coastline of Alanya to the Mediterranean is about 100 km. The natural well-kept beaches extend along the coast.
Kargicak
The small town Kargicak is also known as the "residential area" of Alanya. It is situated in the quiet green surroundings of the Taurus Mountains and offers a very tranquil atmosphere. Kargicak has a small center with a series of small shops, restaurants and bars.
There are no high buildings in the living areas of Kargicak, by the feet of the Taurus Mountains. Here you will find a nice mix of holiday houses and homes of the local population alongside many banana plantations, olive groves and citrus fruits.
The much larger tourist place Mahmutlar adjoins Kargicak. Here you will find many supermarkets and other shops, restaurants and bars.

Explore Alanya and its surroundings
The old castle of Alanya is located high above sea level and offers an incredible view. The famous Red Tower is located at the foot of the Peninsula, near the harbor. There are several caves that are worth a visit. If you are up for a swim, consider going to the Dimçay for a change, a river in the vicinity of Alanya, offering beautiful terraces and nice restaurants.
Many other activities and attractions can be explored in the area of Alanya. In the port of Alanya various boat trips are organized. Numerous excursions give the opportunity to explore the amazing surroundings, for example you can visit Cappadocia or Pamukkale. But of course you can also simply relax on the beach, where numerous beach and water activities are offered.
